While many parts of our web-builder enable "templating" of content we'll begin by exploring Capitan's Root Template Set. These are the base components of every dynamically generated page and e-mail.
The Root Template Set contains:
- Default HTML Template
Unless otherwise specified, this is the HTML template used for building every page. It usually contains hard coded main navigation and footer sections and dynamic containers for the menus and contents of generated page - Default CSS Template
Unless otherwise specified, this is the CSS attached to the Default HTML Template and Blank HTML Template - Default Sass Variables
The Sass file is like a master style settings file, it enables the creation variables which are then compiled into all live CSS templates. For example, you can create a brand colour variable "$brand: #4f0cd6;" and then simply use the variable $brand as the value in your CSS, wherever this colour should be used. This can help you to make major template changes or adjustments far more efficiently - Dev Templates
There's a dev version of the Default HTML, CSS and Sass which enable the development, preview and deployment of major template changes without end-user disruption or the need for a separate dev environment. You can preview the dev template on any of your web pages by prefixing the URL with /DEV/ or invoke other dev utilities by adding the query string ?capdev=YourDevLicenseCode - Utilities: Outage Page HTML Template
Should your database be unreachable for any reason the Outage Page will be activated and can be configured to display any essential content to your visitor during the outage - Utilities: Checkout HTML Template
The system is pre-loaded with our standard e-ecommerce checkout template but you can adjust this if required - Utilities: Blank HTML Template
The blank template has no nav or footer containers so it's often the perfect choice for creating landing pages. Again, you can adjust as you see fit - Utilities: Portal HTML Template
Portals usually need a totally different navigation and style to your main website. The portal HTML template allows you to develop this as required - Utilities: Portal CSS Template
Unless otherwise specified, this is the CSS attached to the Portal HTML Template providing flexibility to customise your portal without affecting the main website design. This file will be compiled using the Live Sass Variables - Utilities: Focus-Box HTML Template
The focus box template has no nav or footer containers and the content is placed into a small box which is centered on the page with your company logo at the top. This is great for login, password reset pages, or surveys and other data capture landing pages. Again, you can adjust as you see fit - Utilities: Focus-Box CSS Template
Unless otherwise specified, this is the CSS attached to the Focus-Box HTML Template providing flexibility to customise these pages without affecting the main website design. This file will be compiled using the Live Sass Variables - E-mails: Marketing Messages HTML E-mail Template (header/no header/formal)
HTML E-mail templates for Marketing messages. There's a template with a header containing your company logo and a template without the header. The formal template is like a regular email that you'd send with your own e-mail signature. You can adjust the HTML as you see fit - E-mails: Servic Messages HTML E-mail Template (header/no header/formal)
HTML E-mail templates for Service messages. There's a template with a header containing your company logo and a template without the header. The formal template is like a regular email that you'd send with your own e-mail signature. You can adjust the HTML as you see fit - Emails: Content Notification HTML E-mail Template
Default HTML E-mail template for content notification messages (if your site is configured to send these) - E-mails: Transactional Messages HTML E-mail Template
Default HTML E-mail template for transactional e-mails (password reset, e-mail verification, form submission confirmations, etc...)
Need additional templates? No problem, make a Work Request and we can add these to your installation.
