When creating a new contact in Capitan - wether using the "Create Contact" or the "Import Contacts" tools - you will be required to specify the GDPR Lawful Basis for processing the contacts data.

It is your responsibility by law to ensure that you posess the necessary consent and record the basis for this, ie: consent, legitimate interest, contract, legal obligation, vital interest or public task.

This information is recorded on the contacts profile, and will be declared to the contact in the footer of any emails that they receive from your Capitan installation.
